Bottle handles

Product: Dr. Brown’s Silicone Bottle Handles

About: When Ruby was just a wee one, she decided she wanted to hold the bottle HERSELF. She’d been drinking out of a bottle since shortly after birth due to my supply issues, and she was very proficient with bottles. When she was about six months old, I decided to try one of these, and it fit perfectly with our favorite bottles. She took to it immediately, and hasn’t stopped using it multiple times a day since. The only issue we had with it was when I forgot to remove it for cleaning, and some milk got between the bottle and the handle and mildewed. The mildew wouldn’t come off, but doesn’t affect the item in any way. We haven’t replaced it yet!

What we love:

  • It’s made of silicone, which is reasonably safe material
  • It comes off and on the bottles fairly easily (water helps the process!)
  • It fits most narrow-neck bottles
  • We haven’t had any issues with the bottle slipping out
  • It provides a level of protection when Ruby decides to drop her glass bottle on the floor
  • It is easily washable by hand and can be boiled and go in sterilizers and presumably dishwashers

What we don’t love:

  • It mildewed on the inside when I didn’t remove it for washing, though this is my fault!

Cost: $5 – $10 range
